Tee Ball – Dodgers at Rangers
Posted by Chris in Kids, TheNolands on September 29, 2008
Today’s game on September 29, 2008 was against the Rangers. My photographer decided to travel for business so things are a bit lighter than normal as I need to run around the field first and try and take some pictures second.
The team was excited for the nice evening game again and was determined to listen to Coach Marc.

Andrew is starting to listen a little better and the practice at home is starting to help. The consistency of his swing is just improving, also he is throwing a little better, that is an area of focus for our practice I believe.

The kids just cannot stay away from the dirt and just love to the kick up a dust storm. It does not seem to bother the kids, but those of us with contacts it was a challenge to see what was going on.
Well I am back to trying to clean my contacts.

Today’s game on September 25, 2008 against the Tigers was exciting… well for the coaches trying to get the team to play their positions that is.
I am convinced Andrew is a complete a ham and any time the camera is pointed at him he is striking a pose. He definitely has a future in professional sports.

There were a few really good plays, the best was by Eli with this gab

It was Zach’s 4th birthday soon, and he brought an extra snack and the kids got some yummy cookies. Great to have these and then get Andrew to bed, hmm geez thanks again.

T-Ball Dodgers at Rockhounds

Today’s game against the Rockhounds was a lot of fun for the team. The day started a bit earlier than most of the kids are used to with pictures starting at 7:45 am and the game at 9:00. Let’s just say they were losing interest more than usual close to 10:00 am
Donna was Jones’n for some donuts and helped the kids (ok parents too) get their sugar fix for the morning. I think I found someone that actually likes chocolate more than Andrew, he had at least 3 donuts with chocolate frosting. I can only think of what fun his parents had with him in the afternoon. They might want to look up my margarita recipe.

Our next game is not until Thursday the 25th… so we have a few days for some extra practice time at home to strengthen our catching skills. I am still trying to figure out how to get Andrew or any of the other kids to stay at first base, but is seems that foot ball and base ball have been combined to form the new sport Tackle Ball.

T-Ball Orioles at Dodgers

Andrew had a great T-Ball game tonight against the Orioles. Even thought the evening games are difficult logistically, the weather is great (only 80 degrees).

The kids are starting to listen a bit more, but still very sporadic as the dirt is so inviting

Stacey was recruited to become the Noland / Team photographer since I am on the field trying to help Coach Marc. This was her first official time behind the lens, not bad for a rookie (Like I am much better) Maybe I can use this to get her to let me get the new D3 and assortment of long and fast lenses… hmmm.

This is a busy week with three games. Let’s see how the kids do on Saturday

Andrew had his first T-Ball game of the new season on September 15, 2008 after graduating from BlastBall. The team this year is the Dodgers, so we are still holding out for getting onto the Cubs at some point in the future.

I am one of the assistant coaches this year, helping the little guys and girls learn the sport. Yes I know this is scary, maybe I need to call one of the Kately’s to get some tips.
Andrew showed he still loves to play in the dirt and proud to be one of the loudest kids on the team. It seems he is going to take after the Noland’s in terms of volume, now if we can get his grandfather to teach him to have the signature whistle. This is something that I still have never mastered, maybe it skips a generation
Andrew was very proud to get one of the game balls since he had been doing so well at the games and practice by listening and his enthusiasm (I told the coach he just likes to be loud).
